The Friends of the Primary School in the School Village Association in Seeheim-Jugenheim has been awarded the main prize of the Hessian State Association of School and Kindergarten Support Associations. The prize, endowed with 3,000 euros , recognizes outstanding commitment to education.
Award for children's city "Grünhausen"
The award was presented at the Riedberg Gymnasium in Frankfurt am Main by the chairwoman of the state association, Elke Hauff, and Ralph Horstkötter from the Hessian Ministry of Culture, Education and Opportunities.
The "Grünhausen" project, which takes place regularly at the Bergstraße school campus, received an award . In this children's city, primary school children experience democracy, responsibility, and community in a practical way. They take on their own tasks, make decisions, and actively shape community life.
Joint success of the school and the support association
Those attending the award ceremony included the children's mayors Antonia and Frederik, the club chairwoman Miriam Fleischhacker, treasurer Michael Supp, head of the school branch Heiko Baum and the organizing team of the project week.
The award recognizes the joint commitment of the school's support association, the school, and the school community. The project combines democratic education, self-efficacy, career orientation, and social learning, and is considered a prime example of active participation in primary school.
