This series highlights the impact of digital media on children and young people
The lecture series on "Dealing with digital social media" continues in Darmstadt. The Darmstadt Seventh-day Adventist Church and the Marienhöhe School Center are hosting two further events.
The focus is on the effects of intensive smartphone and social media use on children and young people, as well as practical guidance for families.
Mental strength and self-efficacy
On Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at 7 p.m., Dr. Yves Steininger will speak about mental strength and self-efficacy. His presentation will cover strategies for a conscious and self-determined approach to digital media.
The event will take place in the auditorium of the school center.
Psychological consequences and media use
On Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 3 p.m., Prof. Dr. Thomas Steininger will give a lecture entitled "Corona Kids and Digital Junkies," addressing the psychological consequences of the Corona pandemic and the risks of digital media for personal development.
The event will take place at the community center.
Participation is free of charge
Both events will take place at Marienhöhe. Admission is free.
