St. Martin's Church and Kranichstein Hunting Lodge invite couples on June 26th
Couples in Darmstadt can celebrate their love and receive God's blessing in a simple and uncomplicated way on Friday, June 26, 2026. The "simply get married" initiative offers the opportunity to receive a blessing, renew vows, or even have an official church wedding – all without lengthy preparation.
The event is organized by “FEST im Leben”, the innovation and coordination office of the Protestant Deanery of Darmstadt.
Two special places to celebrate love
From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., the castle chapel and the baroque rotunda hall at Kranichstein Hunting Lodge are available for blessings and weddings. Afterwards, from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., services continue at the Protestant St. Martin's Church and in the garden at the St. Martin's Foundation on Riegerplatz.
Couples can decide for themselves in what setting they would like to design their celebration – whether in the church, in the castle or in the garden, just the two of them or together with family and friends.
Blessing, marriage vows or church wedding
After a brief conversation with the clergy, the personal celebration begins, focusing on the relationship and the blessing. A total of 15 pastors and lay preachers are participating in the event.
Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to toast the occasion with a glass of sparkling wine or orange juice. A photographer will also be available to take commemorative photos.
In principle, all couples can receive a blessing for their relationship. If the marriage is to be officially registered in the church records, at least one person must be a member of the Protestant church.
Registration possible until June 24th
Registration is possible until June 24th via the "FEST im Leben" website. Those who decide at short notice can also come directly to Kranichstein Hunting Lodge or St. Martin's Church on the day of the event without prior registration.
