Roadworks from September 21st to October 2nd – detours in place
Hagenstrasse in Darmstadt will be completely closed between Heidelberger Landstrasse and Reuterallee from Monday, September 21, until approximately Friday, October 2, 2026. This closure is due to extensive road construction. Bus services will also be diverted during the construction period.
The city of Darmstadt is renewing this section as part of its 2026 road rehabilitation program. The damaged asphalt surface will be milled off and replaced. Drainage systems, road fixtures, and road markings will also be renewed.
Properties only accessible to a limited extent
Throughout the entire construction period, access to several properties will only be possible in exceptional cases. The affected properties are Hagenstraße 35 to 46, Heidelberger Landstraße 187 to 191 , and Reuterallee 57.
Access must be coordinated in advance with the construction company working on site. According to the city, the sidewalks are not affected by the construction work.
Diversion also for bus traffic
Traffic will be diverted via Reuterallee, the roundabout, and Heidelberger Landstraße . The same route applies in the opposite direction.
Schafnussbaumweg will become a dead end for vehicles approaching from the south at Hagenstraße. Affected buses will also be rerouted via Reuterallee, the roundabout, and Heidelberger Landstraße.
According to the city, the costs for the renovation work amount to approximately 110,000 euros.
