New overview includes more than 150 actors, supporters and social places in Darmstadt and is set to grow further
more than 150 organizations, supporters, and social venues . HEAG and the City of Darmstadt have created a large-format poster and a digital version for this purpose. The overview includes associations, initiatives, foundations, companies, as well as meeting places and institutions.
This overview aims to show which organizations and institutions in Darmstadt are socially engaged or support such engagement. At the same time, it is intended to make it easier for interested individuals to access the respective services.
Three areas for engagement and encounter
The overview is divided into the categories of actors, supporters, and social spaces . Actors include organizations from various sectors – including aid, rescue and protection, neighborhood work, integration, culture, sports, environmental protection, social engagement, as well as churches and faith communities.
Supporters include foundations, service clubs, associations, sponsors, and other donors. Under "Social Places" you'll find, for example, neighborhood meeting points, youth and senior centers, sports facilities, and other gathering places.
Mayor Hanno Benz sees the overview as an opportunity to showcase the breadth of civic engagement in Darmstadt. "My thanks go to everyone who is committed to social cohesion in Darmstadt, whether through professional work, volunteering, or financial support," Benz explains.

Digital overview leads directly to the offers
According to HEAG and the city, this compilation does not claim to be exhaustive. Rather, it is intended to be further developed and supplemented with additional stakeholders and services.
In the digital version, the listed organizations, supporters, and social spaces are linked to their respective websites. Users can thus directly access information about individual services and contact the organizations.
HEAG board members Prof. Dr. Klaus-Michael Ahrend and Dr. Markus Hoschek also link the publication with a call to participate in further development and to support social engagement in Darmstadt.
The digital overview is available on the HEAG website regarding social cohesion .
