BUND and the adult education center provide information about dangers and protective measures
The BUND Darmstadt and the Darmstadt Adult Education Center invite you to a lecture on hedgehog conservation on Tuesday, May 12, 2026. It starts at 7 p.m. at the BUND Center for Urban Nature.
Lifestyle and dangers for hedgehogs
Under the title "How do we help the hedgehog? Lifestyle, dangers, tips", it is about the lifestyle of the now rare hedgehog and about concrete ways in which people can help the animals in their own garden.
The focus is on the period after hibernation, the mating season, and the dangers that hedgehogs face in summer and autumn.
Tips for your own garden
The event also demonstrates how gardens can be designed to be hedgehog-friendly, so that the animals can find sufficient food and places to retreat to and survive the next winter well.
Participation is free – also possible online
Participation is free of charge. The lecture will also be streamed online.
