The campaign against sexual harassment offers a discreet way to get support from September 25th to 28th
The "Luisa is here" campaign will also be offered at the Griesheim Onion Market from September 25th to 28th this year. Women and girls who feel uncomfortable, harassed, or pressured while celebrating can discreetly ask staff for help by asking, "Is Luisa here?"
The women's office of the city of Griesheim launched the campaign in February 2026 together with the 1st Griesheim Carnival Society (GCG) at a carnival event organized by the society. At the Onion Market, signs reading "Luisa is here" on the tents advertise the support offered.
“Luisa is here” allows for discreet requests for help
Anyone asking "Is Luisa here?" doesn't need to explain the situation in detail first. Trained staff will take care of the person and offer support.
“Women and girls often experience situations while celebrating in which they feel harassed or pressured,” says Natalia Herold, women’s representative of the city of Griesheim.
In addition to providing concrete support, the campaign aims to raise awareness of sexual harassment and encourage participation and civic courage. "Those affected should know that they are not alone and can seek support at any time," explain Herold and Florian Brech, Chairman of the 1st GCG.
The "Luisa is here" campaign was launched in 2016 by the women's emergency hotline Münster eV in North Rhine-Westphalia. According to the press release, more than 500 venues and institutions are now participating in the campaign.
