Maximilian Schimmel visits the Drop In (inclusive) baby group at the family center
A special visit took place at the "Drop In(clusive)" baby group in the family center in Pfungstadt: Mayor Maximilian Schimmel participated as an "intern" on April 22, 2026, and actively supported the work on site.
An insight into the work of the family center
The visit took place as part of a series of internship days during which the mayor is getting to know various departments of the city administration. The family center in the Eschollbrücken district was also on the agenda.
Together with youth worker Matthias Hirt, Schimmel prepared the room for the weekly meeting. This included, among other things, setting up tables and chairs and providing games and activities.
Support during the meeting
During the event, the mayor took on various tasks, such as registering guests and assisting with the welcome address. He also helped with the communal breakfast and the subsequent cleanup.
In a symbolic “internship certificate”, those in charge attested to his high level of commitment and empathy in dealing with the children and families.
Exchange for families in everyday life
This program is aimed at families with children aged 0 to 3 years and, in addition to shared activities, primarily offers a space for exchange. In a relaxed atmosphere, parents can talk about their daily lives with toddlers.
Regular appointments and support
The baby group meets regularly at the Eschollbrücken community center:
Wednesdays from 9 to 11 a.m. and Fridays from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Participation is free and no registration is required.
The program is supported by, among others, the Karl Kübel Foundation for Children and Families and the Hessian Ministry for Family, Seniors, Sport, Health and Care.
