Facilities temporarily closed on April 29th
The city of Darmstadt, a center for science and research, has announced that a helicopter flight will be conducted on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, to combat the oak processionary moth. This measure complements the ongoing ground-based control efforts.
Aerial spraying in the morning
Between sunrise and approximately 10 a.m., several facilities will be treated from the air. These include the Darmstadt Forest Cemetery, the Orplid recreation area, and the grounds of the Darmstadt Animal Welfare Association.
The areas will need to be temporarily closed for the duration of the work. The forest cemetery is expected to remain closed until approximately 10 a.m.
