Environmentally friendly market on Ascension Day at Richthofenplatz
The traditional organic market will take place again in Riedstadt on Ascension Day. For the 34th time, the city invites everyone to Richthofenplatz on Thursday, May 14, 2026.
From 10 am to 6 pm, visitors can expect a diverse range of offerings related to sustainable consumption, regional products and environmental information.
Wide range of products and regional specialties
The market offers a wide selection of goods – from cooking oils, honey and soaps to garden plants, baskets and wooden kitchen utensils. The selection is complemented by regional food and drinks.
In addition, various initiatives provide information on topics such as climate protection, energy saving and sustainable living.
A program for the whole family
The supporting program is also diverse:
From 11 a.m., the guitar duo "Love on the Rocks" will provide musical entertainment. In the afternoon, a family program with acrobatics and theater will follow. Games and sports activities will also be available for children and teenagers.
Sustainable local infrastructure
In addition to the public restrooms, an accessible composting toilet is now available for the first time. This toilet requires no chemicals and saves water. The service is supported by the Darmstadt municipal services department.
Excursion into nature possible
A visit to the market can be combined with a trip to the nearby Kühkopf-Knoblochsaue nature reserve.
The destination is easily accessible by public transport, bicycle or on foot.
