Workshop discussion in Riedstadt provides information on alternatives and funding opportunities
What alternatives exist to older oil heating systems and oil tanks in flood-prone areas? A workshop on this topic will be held on Monday, September 14, 2026, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Riedstadt Town Hall in Goddelau. The event also marks the launch of an advisory campaign by the Groß-Gerau district.
The urban renewal management team of the town of Riedstadt, known for its connection to the Büchner family, is hosting its 29th workshop in cooperation with the district of Groß-Gerau. The focus will be on older heating oil tanks and the possibilities of replacing the heating system.
Older heating oil tanks in focus
According to the organizers, action may be required, particularly for PE and plastic tanks that are older than 30 years or whose intended service life has expired. In flood-prone areas, legal requirements for protection against leaking heating oil must also be observed.
Speaker Nina Hackel from the Groß-Gerau district will explain at the event what options households have to reduce risks and switch to other heating systems. She will also present funding opportunities for replacing heating systems.
The workshop discussion is funded by the state of Hesse.
Energy consultation at home from October
The event also marks the launch of an advisory campaign by the Groß-Gerau district in cooperation with the Hessian Consumer Center. From October 1st to November 30th, 2026, households can take advantage of individual, on-site energy consultations.
