An event on October 19th in the Heimstättensiedlung provides clubs with suggestions for member recruitment and board work
How can clubs attract new volunteers and keep them engaged long-term? This question will be addressed by the "Round Table for Clubs" on Monday, October 19, 2026, at 6 p.m. in the VGH clubhouse in the Heimstättensiedlung district of Darmstadt. Participation is free.
Board members of non-profit associations are invited. The evening is being organized by VGH Heimstättenvereine eV and the HEAG association coaching service.
Recruiting and retaining volunteers
The focus is on the topic of "recruiting and retaining volunteers." This is due to challenges many associations face: according to the organizers, these include declining membership numbers, difficulties in filling board positions, and a lack of support for projects.
Speaker Florian Brechtel will use concrete examples from club work to present ways of integrating new members and motivating already active members to continue their participation.
Following the presentation, an open exchange is planned, in which participants can contribute their experiences and solutions from their own club work.
