Top international sport at the velodrome on May 23 and 24
The science city of Darmstadt will once again become a meeting place for the international track cycling scene at the end of May: On May 23 and 24, 2026, the International Track Cycling Tour will stop at the DIATEST Velodrome in Darmstadt. The event is organized by the Velociped-Club 1899 Darmstadt.
Following the successful events of recent years, Darmstadt has firmly established itself on the international racing calendar. In 2026, over 200 athletes from more than 30 nations are expected to participate.
World-class level and important qualification points
The tour is held as a World Cup event and is therefore a significant part of international track cycling. National teams collect important points here for qualification for World Championships and other major events.
A strong German contingent is also expected, which will compete against international rivals in front of a home crowd.
Madison as a sporting highlight
A particular highlight are the Madison races, the classic two-person team race. Team members take turns in rapid succession and collect points together over several timed laps.
The dynamic handoff technique and the tactical interplay make this discipline one of the most exciting formats in track cycling.
Supporting program and youth sports
In addition to the competitions, visitors can expect a diverse supporting program with music, gastronomy and an event atmosphere in the velodrome.
Young athletes also get their chance: The Darmstadt Summer Track Championships provide a platform for young and ambitious athletes.
Event times and admission
The event will take place on Saturday from 11:30 am to 9:30 pm and on Sunday from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm.
Children and young people up to 16 years of age receive free admission. Further information and tickets are available online.
