Five new hotspots provide more public internet access in the town
The municipality of Nauheim has installed five new public Wi-Fi hotspots. This expands the free internet access available to residents and visitors in the town.
The project was implemented as part of the Hessian funding program “Digital Village Green”, which is supported by the Hessian Ministry for Digitalization and Innovation.
New hotspots in central locations
The new Wi-Fi locations are at the historic town hall, the local history museum, the Waldstraße recreation area in the Friedensplatz and playground area, and the Berzallee recreation area with the skate park.
The municipality emphasizes that the new hotspots are intended to provide free, easy and data protection-compliant access to the internet.
Mayor Marc Friedrich explains: “With the new Wi-Fi hotspots, we are creating more freely accessible internet services in central locations, thereby increasing the attractiveness of our community for citizens and guests.”
Free access with one click
The network is accessed via the "Hessen-WLAN Gemeinde Nauheim" network. After selecting the network, you only need to accept the data protection regulations. You will then be automatically redirected to the homepage.
According to the municipality, usage is unlimited in time. Furthermore, the available bandwidth will be fairly distributed among all users.
A total of nine Wi-Fi locations in Nauheim
With the new hotspots, Nauheim now has a total of nine public Wi-Fi locations. Additional access points have been available since 2022, including at the sports park, the Georg-Schad-Halle, the campsite, and the DLRG building. These operate under the identifier "WIFI4EU".
The new hotspots are signposted on site. In addition, the municipality has created an overview map showing all Wi-Fi locations.
