Anne Jähn takes over as chair of the Women's Union
The Darmstadt Women's Union elected a new board at its general meeting. Anne Jähn is the new chairwoman. Christiane Worgull was elected deputy chairwoman.
The new board also includes Dr. Annette Brunert, Katharina Jung, and Maria Lichtenthäler as members-at-large. Dr. Annette Brunert will also serve as secretary. Katharina Jung was elected as membership officer.
Women's rights and work-life balance in focus
After her election, the new chairwoman Anne Jähn emphasized the importance of the political work of the Women's Union and referred to key social issues.
"The work of the Women's Union is important. There are many issues where it is worthwhile to advocate for women and women's rights," Jähn explained. Issues such as equal opportunities in the labor market, equal pay, and the compatibility of family and career remain central.
The protection of women is also an important concern. This includes both prevention and combating physical and psychological violence. The Women's Union intends to emphasize this issue in the future through events and clear positions.
Public meetings planned
The Darmstadt Women's Union announced that it will continue to advocate for the interests of women in society, family, and the workplace. The organization's meetings are open to the public.
