Intercultural Week brings people together at the Hofgut on September 17th
As part of Intercultural Week, the city of Reinheim invites everyone to a "Breakfast of Encounters" on Thursday, September 17, 2026. It will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the Heinrich Klein Hall of the Hofgut estate , Kirchstraße 24. All citizens are invited.
The breakfast is jointly organized by the town of Reinheim, the Reinheim Museum, the children's and youth services, and the Dr. Kurt Schumacher School. The aim is to bring people of different backgrounds and with different life stories into conversation with one another.
Guests bring food for a shared buffet
Breakfast is designed as a communal event. Participants are asked to bring a dish for the shared buffet. The food will be shared and is intended to provide an opportunity to get to know one another and exchange ideas.
Mayor Manuel Feick sees personal encounters as an opportunity to promote mutual understanding. "Especially when societal debates are increasingly characterized by opposing views, it is important to talk with each other instead of about each other," Feick explains.
The motto for Intercultural Week is "For it!"
This year's motto for Intercultural Week is "For it!". This focuses, among other things, on human dignity, respect, compassion, and living together without exclusion.
The Intercultural Week has been held nationwide since 1975. It is supported by the German Bishops' Conference, the Evangelical Church in Germany, and the Greek Orthodox Metropolis. Municipalities, associations, initiatives, and other organizations also participate.
