Information booths as part of the Hesse-wide prevention campaign
The Hessian police will be providing information on effective measures to protect against burglary and theft in Griesheim and Weiterstadt on Thursday, June 11, 2026. These information sessions are part of the statewide campaign "Together safe from theft and burglary.".
With the upcoming holiday season in mind, security authorities want to raise awareness among citizens about the importance of better protecting their apartments and houses during their absence.
Advice in the shopping center and at the Edeka supermarket
In Griesheim, the police officers will be available for discussions from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the shopping center at Oberndorfer Straße 111.
The information campaign will then be held from 12:30 to 14:00 in the parking lot of the Edeka supermarket at Büttelborner Weg 1 in Weiterstadt.
On site, police officers Boris Kolb and Matthias Funk offer advice on various options for burglary prevention.
Simple measures can protect
The police point out that simple precautions can often significantly reduce the risk of a burglary. These include, for example, a vigilant neighborhood, appropriate security technology, and avoiding obvious signs of extended absences.
At the information stands, interested parties receive practical tips and can ask individual questions about protecting their house and apartment.
Prevention before the holiday season
The police aim to raise awareness of burglary prevention and reduce the number of burglaries during the holiday season with this campaign.
The police provide further information on the topic of burglary prevention on their prevention portal.
