Renovation work is expected to last two months – alternative halls are available
Due to water damage, the funeral hall at the Gräfenhausen-Schneppenhausen cemetery has been unusable for approximately two months since the beginning of October 2025. The cause is leaks in the old slate roof , which led to dampness in the suspended wooden ceiling
To prevent further damage, both the roof and the ceiling cladding must be completely replaced. During the renovation, the funeral chapels at the Weiterstadt and Braunshardt cemeteries will be available as alternatives
The city of Weiterstadt asks for your understanding regarding the restrictions during the works.
