Extreme temperatures prevent event on June 27th
The market breakfast planned for Saturday, June 27, 2026, in Groß-Gerau will not take place. The district town of Groß-Gerau has cancelled the event due to the predicted heat wave.
According to current weather forecasts, maximum temperatures between 38 and 40 degrees Celsius are expected for Saturday. Temperatures are expected to rise significantly in the morning, reaching around 35 degrees by 11 a.m. Against this backdrop, the participating stallholders withdrew their participation.
Popular event series at the weekly market
The market breakfast offers clubs, institutions and catering businesses the opportunity to present themselves and generate income for their work on several Saturdays throughout the year.
This year, the handball association Dornheim/Groß-Gerau, the VfR Groß-Gerau, the children's day care center "Nestflüchter" and the volunteer fire brigade Groß-Gerau were already represented as organizers.
The event series takes place alongside the Groß-Gerau weekly market and aims to further highlight its diverse offerings. The market breakfast typically begins at 9:30 a.m. and ends around 1 p.m.
Other dates remain unchanged
Despite the cancellation of the June event, further market breakfasts are planned for this year. The next events are currently scheduled for the following Saturdays: July 25, August 22, and September 26, 2026.
Whether the events can take place as planned depends on the respective framework conditions and weather conditions.
