Taunusstraße closed due to safety deficiencies – Old Castle School will reopen soon
Two playgrounds in Gräfenhausen are currently temporarily closed. The city of Weiterstadt has announced that the playground on Taunusstrasse closed until further notice. The playground at the Alte Schlossschule (Old Castle School) is also currently closed, but is expected to reopen soon.
During a routine safety inspection of the playground on Taunusstrasse, defects were discovered in the climbing and sliding structure. According to the city, the structure is currently unsafe for use. Several components need to be replaced before the playground can be reopened.
According to the city administration, they are working to implement the necessary repairs as quickly as possible so that the playground can be reopened.
The playground at the Old Castle School is closed for a different reason: Tree maintenance work is required due to deadwood in the tree canopy. Once this work is completed, the playground is scheduled to reopen to children next Wednesday
