New regulations from 2025 – What property owners need to know
The district town of Groß-Gerau sent out the property tax assessments at the beginning of the year. In this context, the town points out that it only has influence over the tax rates – which currently stand at 580.35 percentage points.
Property tax B and C: New regulations in Hesse
Property tax B applies to undeveloped and developed properties that are not used for agriculture or forestry – this also includes condominiums . From 2025, new regulations for property tax B and property tax C will apply in Hesse , based on the area-factor method .
For property owners, this means:
- In the future, only the size of the property (land area) and the living space will need to be stated in the tax return .
- In mixed-use buildings, the rooms must be declared according to their use
