Five citizens will in future participate in the advisory committee on pedestrian, bicycle and public transport
The city of Griesheim is seeking five citizens to participate in the "Local Mobility" roundtable. Those with knowledge of or a particular interest in mobility issues can apply to the city by October 18, 2026. Participation is voluntary.
On August 10th, the city council decided to continue the existing roundtable and to include five members from the community. The group addresses issues related to pedestrian and bicycle traffic as well as public transportation in Griesheim. The roundtable has been in existence for several years and was also active during the last election period.
Approximately four meetings per year are planned
In addition to the five citizens, representatives of local and regional associations and organizations, as well as the political groups and the city administration, will participate in the roundtable. Currently, approximately four meetings per year. The number of meetings can be adjusted depending on the topics at hand.
The committee has an advisory function. It provides a forum for discussing concerns and suggestions from the public, as well as current administrative plans. Recommendations for political action can then be developed based on these discussions. However, the responsible political bodies, such as the city council and the municipal assembly, remain in charge of making the final decisions.
Applications accepted until October 18th
Interested individuals can apply informally by email to the Urban Development Department at stadtentwicklung@griesheim.de . The city requests that applicants include their name, address, contact information, year of birth, and a brief explanation of their motivation for participating.
