SPD Seeheim-Jugenheim with gains and new leadership
The SPD Seeheim-Jugenheim has reorganized its personnel following the 2026 local elections. With 25.1 percent of the vote, the Social Democrats significantly improved their result and will enter the Seeheim-Jugenheim municipal council as the third strongest party.
Significant gains in the election
Compared to the previous election, the SPD gained approximately 3.3 percentage points, recording the largest gains among all parties. The party will now be represented by nine members in the municipal council, one more than before.
A mix of experience and new members
The new parliamentary group unites experienced local politicians with three new members. New to the municipal council are Markus Rossmann, Verena Motzel, and Matthias Rossmann.
Samuel Foschum was elected as parliamentary group leader. Verena Motzel and Markus Rossmann will serve as his deputies.
Preparation for the upcoming legislative period
At the inaugural meeting on March 23, in addition to the election of the parliamentary group's executive committee, the composition of the committees and nominations for other bodies were also discussed. The focus was particularly on the members' areas of expertise and interests.
Cooperation at the local level
Close cooperation with the local advisory councils is also planned. Representatives from Ober-Beerbach and Balkhausen are involved in the political work.
Focus on social and reliable policies
The SPD parliamentary group sees itself as well positioned for the upcoming legislative period and wants to continue its work with a clear focus on social, citizen-oriented and future-oriented policies.
