Children decorate flower pots and build insect and lizard houses
In Riedstadt-Goddelau, the "An der Riedbahn" daycare center celebrated its spring festival under the motto "Spring Awakening." According to the city, the event not only involved celebrating together but also preparing the outdoor area for the warmer months.
Creative activities for children and families
The kindergarten grounds were bustling with activity in the sunny weather. Children, parents, and grandparents brought flowerpots, which were painted on site and then planted.
The finished plants were then placed in the facility's outdoor area. Additionally, the children could build insect hotels at a craft station, which will provide habitats for small animals in the future.
New home for lizards
One special project was the creation of a new habitat for lizards. After they had previously been driven out of the daycare center grounds, a new home was created for the animals.
The necessary materials were organized jointly with the support of the neighboring municipal works department. The daycare center's management expressly emphasized this cooperation.
Community and commitment are at the heart of it all
In addition to the activities, the focus was also on fostering a sense of community. A buffet organized by parents provided refreshments and an opportunity for conversation.
In the future, children and parents will jointly take care of the newly planted areas so that the outdoor area of the daycare center can continue to grow and thrive.
