Strong performances and close decisions in Biebesheim
The young gymnasts from TSV Pfungstadt impressed with strong performances at the Main-Rhine Cup in Biebesheim am Rhein. Five athletes competed and delivered an exciting competition with close finishes.
Solid start in the first round
In the first round, Lilly Axt and Cara Edel competed in their respective age groups. Cara Edel performed clean routines at the P4 and P5 levels and achieved a respectable seventh place. Lilly Axt competed in the P2/P3 competition and finished in 18th place, leaving more than 20 competitors behind her.
Best scores on the horizontal bar in the second round
In the second round, Mia Braun, Sarah Ilie, and Lena Kreyenschulte competed on the apparatus. They delivered solid performances in the all-around competition and ventured into the P5 level on vault.
The three gymnasts made a particularly strong impression on the horizontal bar: there they achieved the best scores in the entire field of participants, which consisted of 34 starters.
The best Pfungstadt competitor was Sarah Ilie in eighth place, closely followed by Lena Kreyenschulte in ninth. Mia Braun finished in 15th place.
Decisions in the tenths range
The competition once again demonstrated how close the level of performance was. Even small mistakes determined several placements. For example, Mia Braun lost several places due to a wobble on the floor exercise, while Sarah Ilie narrowly missed the podium.
Despite the close results, the overall conclusion is positive: The gymnasts presented a strong and unified performance and confirmed their development in the competition.
