Twelve deployments for the volunteer emergency services
The Seeheim volunteer fire department was called out to a total of twelve incidents in April 2026. In addition to several fire calls, they also provided technical assistance and supported the ambulance service.
Operations ranging from fire alarm to door opening
The fire department responded to a fire alarm on April 3rd. The all-clear was quickly given on site.
On April 9th, the fire department was alerted to provide support along the railway line between Alsbach and Zwingenberg. However, their intervention was not required.
On April 21st, there were two call-outs in one day: first a technical assistance call, later a call-out due to smoke development in a residential building.
Support for the rescue service
In the following days, the fire department repeatedly assisted the ambulance service, including with carrying patients. The turntable ladder was also used in these instances. Additionally, the emergency responders secured a helicopter landing and forced entry into a locked door.
Major operation at barn fire in Bickenbach
The most extensive operation of the month took place on April 27th at a barn fire in Bickenbach. Together with numerous other fire departments from the district, the Seeheim firefighters provided support, including water supply and supplied firefighters with breathing apparatus.
While the operation was still ongoing, the fire department was also alerted in Seeheim due to a triggered smoke detector.
Burning garbage cans on Elsterweg
The month concluded with a fire call-out on the night of April 30th. Garbage cans were burning in Elsterweg, very close to a residential building. The fire department was able to extinguish the fire quickly and prevent it from spreading to the building.
