Music, creativity and encounters on June 24th in Groß-Gerau
The Groß-Gerau Municipal Senior Citizens' Services invite you to the "Colorful House" summer festival on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at the Haus Raiss senior citizens' day center. The festivities will take place from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the courtyard of the facility at Frankfurter Straße 46.
The festival's motto reflects the diversity of people and groups who bring life to Haus Raiss. Numerous volunteers and user groups contribute to the program, ensuring a varied and engaging offering.
Music, dance and interactive activities
The afternoon begins at 2 p.m. with coffee and cake. After a welcome address by Mayor Jörg Rüddenklau at 3 p.m., visitors can expect a varied entertainment program.
Musical entertainment will be provided by the "Fidelen Ukulelen" and the "Musikalischer Nachmittag" (Musical Afternoon). DJ Günter will also be on hand to get the dance floor going.
Numerous hands-on activities and information booths are also planned. These include, among other things, painting stones, making paper flowers, a slogan guessing game, mini table tennis, a flea market for handbags and scarves, and creatively weaving a fence with fabric scraps.
In addition, various organizations provide information about their work, including the Alzheimer's Society.
Many volunteers are involved
The intergenerational support group is organizing the cake buffet, while Mirogh Catering is providing other food. Decoration, drinks stand, service, and kitchen are also being supported by volunteers from various groups.
The medical services during the event will be provided by the DLRG (German Life Saving Association).
Donations in kind are still welcome
The senior citizens' group is still accepting donations of items for the summer festival. They are looking for cakes, handbags, scarves, shawls, and strips of fabric for the planned activities.
Open offer for all interested parties
Both visitors to the Raiss House and anyone interested in learning about the services offered by the senior day care center are invited.
Parking is available in the courtyard of the Prälat-Diehl-Schule. A transportation service can be arranged for people with mobility impairments. Information about this service can be obtained by calling the senior citizens' services office during office hours.
